Born in in Modena, Italy, Sara Sani is a half-italian half-moroccan visual artist.
In 2008 she moved from her hometown to Barcelona, where she began to pursue a career as portrait and fashion photographer.
From there she started travelling and lived between London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo. She worked with various printed and online publications, focusing on streetwear and skate brands.
Back in Modena, she decided to put aside her fashion photography career, to develop a more intimate artistic practice.
In 2018 she won a scholarship for the Master at Fondazione Fotografia Modena.
